About Me

Let me introduce myself- I'm Allie! I'm a high school history teacher based in southwest Louisiana. My husband and I actually graduated from the same school that I teach at now! We got married in 2021 and purchased our first home in 2022. We have the cutest (craziest) dog named Lucky.

I graduated with a degree in Political Science, and worked in politics for several years before moving into education full time. Teaching set my heart on fire for the next generation, and I LOVE watching my students discover their passions.

My desire in starting a blog was to provide a creative outlet for myself that often goes neglected. Home + Design have never been a professional route in my life, rather a hobby that I've worked to develop over the years. I grew up with parents who worked in drafting and real estate, so creative design has been modeled to me for years.

Travel and exploration is my bread and butter! My family prioritized saving our money for trips and adventures, and I feel the most connected and alive when I'm visiting new places or learning about new cultures. Experiencing the world is the best form of education in my opinion!

My heart is for my students to know that they can do anything in this world. Why NOT them? Why not you? While these three categories may seem very obscure to be paired together, and likely not good for my SEO, they are three areas that are interconnected in my life.
